The Ladies
We have three generations of dogs in our house.

The dowager queen is Champion Kilyka's Castlepines Jamielee, ROM. She was our first lady. Many of her pups have Champion and Working Dog Titles. She’s now retired from breeding. One of her daughters, two of her grandchildren and two of her nephews make a home here at River Bear.

Nashau-Auke Eleanor, CD is the second oldest of our ladies. Ellie is the prime minister. She watches the world and tells us when things aren’t right. She saved the day last November. The gate to the river had not been secured and Bess opened it. Ellie came and found Zoë and told her that something was not right! Zoë went down to the dog yard and no dogs. They were having a grand time in the river. Ellie is also a Therapy dog and she pulls a cart. One Christmas she delivered the cookies to the neighbors. Ellie is now retired from breeding. One of her daughters and two of her grandchildren make a home here at River Bear.

Champion River Bear Elizabeth T now reigns as Queen. Bess is our homeland security dog. She loves to spend as much time as possible outside inspecting the world. Zoë takes her tracking four times a week. She’s very good. Inside, Bess likes to watch TV. Animal shows are a favorite but she does enjoy a good car chase scene. Bess has had one litter of six pups. Two of her children are with us.

River Bear Patsy Ketcham is the court jester. She loves to have a good time. If there are a pile of growling pups on one of the dogs, it’s guaranteed to be Patsy underneath. She loves carrying around a toy and teasing the other dogs with it. Patsy has had one litter and we hope she will have one more this year before we start showing her in conformation.

Bowater Waltzing Mathilda’s too young to be a mom. She’s a Lady in Waiting. Mattie enjoys being on top of everything . . . tables, chairs. She also does tracking with Zoë four times a week. We look forward to including her lines into our breeding program.
